Direct-to-consumer Coffee from Costa Rica

Coffee Mill, Farm, & Roaster

Generations of knowledge have been timely applied to Las Peñas coffee in Costa Rica, from nursery to roast.

Las Peñas coffee has been grown, harvested, processed, roasted, and freshy bagged without having left the farm.

At the heart of Las Peñas coffee farm is our coffee micro-mill. Having our very own mill allows us full control over the coffee process.

Every detail in the production of our coffee has been subject to strict quality control, applied experience, and family pride.

"Las Peñas' micro lot is made up of 14 different coffee varietals; we also have 2 special nano-lots for Geisha (Gesha) and Ethiopian varietals."

– Herberth Chacón,
3rd Generation Coffee Grower
in Costa Rica.

A Coffee Micro Lot is  coffee produced by an estate as a whole. A micro lot can be made up of one coffee varietal, or of many coffee varietals.

Las Peñas Coffee’s micro lot is comprised of 14 different coffee varietals, like Pacamara, San Isidro, and Centroamericano.

As you can see, coffee blends begin way before the coffee roaster.

Coffee Nano Lots  are sections of a coffee estate or coffee farm where special care and techniques are applied in pursuit of a unique flavor.

Coffee nano lots are most likely made up of a unique coffee varietal.

Las Peñas coffee estate has two nano lots reserved for a coffee varietal known as Geisha or Gesha, and varietal(s) from Ethiopia.
